Russian Convoy Resupplies Syria Bases After New Moscow-Damascus Deal

Russian Convoy Resupplies Syria Bases After New Moscow-Damascus Deal

Russia sent four ships to a port in Syria to deliver supplies.

The ships arrived at Tartous on September 7.

This was the first reported delivery since Russia and Syria made a new agreement in August.

One ship may have unloaded ammunition for the Tartous port and Hmeimim airbase.

Reuters could not independently confirm exactly what was delivered.

The ships stopped broadcasting their locations while traveling through the Mediterranean.

Under the agreement, Russian forces can stay at the bases.

Some civilian facilities will be controlled by Syria, while military sites will become joint training centers.
