Officials in Gujarat found a company that was allegedly making and repackaging cosmetics without permission.

They took creams, shampoos, soaps, oils and other materials worth more than Rs 2.68 lakh.

The officials also collected samples to test whether the products were safe and of good quality.

Their investigation is also examining a company that allegedly supplied some of the bulk material.

In a separate case, police and drug officials investigated fake blood-pressure medicine.

The medicine was a suspected counterfeit version of Nicardia Retard 10.

Three people from Ahmedabad and Lucknow were arrested.

Investigators found suspected fake medicine at stores and agencies in Gujarat.

Officials said they would continue legal action to protect public health.
