Meghalaya CM Seeks ILP Implementation, Meets Home Minister
Imagine Meghalaya is like a special club, and the Chief Minister wants to make sure only certain people can join.
He met with a big boss in Delhi to ask for a special permit system, like a membership card, called the Inner Line Permit (ILP).
This is to control who comes into the state, because some people are worried about people coming in illegally.
The Chief Minister also wants to split up the group of government workers Meghalaya shares with another state.
He also asked for the local languages to be officially recognized and a road to be named after his dad, who used to be a big leader.
Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sangma reiterated the state's demand for ILP implementation.
The ILP aims to check illegal immigration into Meghalaya.
Sangma requested bifurcation of the joint cadre system for officers.
