Madhya Pradesh Plans 18,000 Teacher Recruitments Despite Vacancies
Madhya Pradesh has many teacher positions listed as vacant.
However, the education minister says many of these positions are being covered by guest teachers.
About 70,000 to 72,000 guest teachers are working in the state.
The government also has to follow reservation rules when hiring.
These rules include provisions for scheduled groups and a 13% OBC quota that is currently on hold.
Because of these factors, the minister says only 18,000 posts can be filled in two years.
