Alwar Students Detained Ahead of Amit Shah Visit Over Protest
Something important was happening in a city called Alwar.
A very important leader named Amit Shah, who takes care of home affairs for India, was going to open new buildings and projects there.
Before he arrived, the police stopped some college students and took them away.
The students wanted to hold a protest.
A protest is when people gather to show they are not happy about something.
The students were upset about many things, like wanting to bring back college student elections and saying the roads were bad.
They also talked about other problems they believed had happened.
The police said the students were planning to show black flags, which is a way people show they are upset.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah opened 933 new projects and many people got job letters.
Some people think the police should stop protests for safety, while others think students should be allowed to say how they feel.
Police detained students in Alwar over an alleged plan to hold a black-flag protest ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's programme.
The planned protest aimed to raise the restoration of student union elections, the lathicharge on students at Jantar Mantar, poor road conditions and the alleged Matsya scam.
Shah, accompanied by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, was scheduled to address a public meeting at Vijay Nagar Ground in Alwar.
Shah was to virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 933 development works worth Rs 6,279 crore across Rajasthan, including 151 projects in Alwar district.
At the Mukhyamantri Rojgar Utsav, appointment letters were to be given to 10,548 newly recruited personnel, including 461 from Alwar.
