Nasdaq-100 Hits Record as Gains Remain Highly Uneven

The Nasdaq-100 is a group of 101 large companies, and its overall value reached a record high.

The index was up more than 23% in 2026 by October 5.

But that rise did not mean every company did well.

At least 33 stocks had lost value, and at least 17 more had gained less than 10%.

Sandisk and several chip-related companies rose sharply.

AppLovin and some other companies fell a lot.

The article says chip and AI-related businesses helped drive the index higher.

Moderna is set to join the index, replacing Warner Bros.

Discovery, on October 9.
