Telangana HC Seeks Details on Forest Compensation for Navy Project
The Telangana High Court is asking the government for details about how they are making up for the damage caused to forests by a Navy project.
The project took 2,900 acres of forest land, and the court wants to know how many of the 7,822 trees that were moved survived and what happened to the 25,000 new saplings that were planted.
The court is also concerned about the butterflies, birds, and rare plants in the area and wants to make sure they are not being harmed.
The government and the Navy have promised to take care of the forests and wildlife, but the court wants to see proof.
They have asked for a report and will meet again on January 20 to discuss the issue.
