Allahabad High Court Rejects Tauqeer Raza Bail in Bareilly Violence

The Allahabad High Court refused to release Tauqeer Raza Khan on bail.

The case is about violence in Bareilly after a rally-related gathering on September 26, 2025.

Police said Raza called people to gather after Friday prayers when permission for a rally had been denied.

Authorities had also imposed restrictions on large gatherings.

The court said a crowd still marched and that police were attacked when they tried to stop it.

It also said public property was damaged and some police personnel were injured.

The court criticized Raza for thanking people after the incident.

It said a slogan used in his speech was different from ordinary religious chants because it threatened the authority of law.

The court noted that the chargesheet had been filed, but formal charges had not yet been framed.
