Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite Chip in Testing, Reportedly With 18 Cores
Qualcomm is working on a new, improved chip called the Snapdragon X2 Elite.
It's being tested and might have a lot of power, like 18 brains (CPU cores) and a lot of memory (64GB of RAM).
This new chip is meant for faster computers, similar to how Apple makes its chips.
Qualcomm might show it off at an event in September, which is when they usually announce their newest tech.
The chip's RAM will be built right in for faster performance, similar to Apple's designs.
Qualcomm is testing the Snapdragon X2 Elite, the successor to the X Elite.
The chip is being tested with 64GB of RAM.
The X2 Elite is expected to have 18 CPU cores, a 50% increase over the X Elite.
The new chip may use Oryon V3 CPU cores.
The Snapdragon X2 Elite is expected to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit in September.
