BJD Accuses Odisha BJP President of Submitting False Affidavits
Imagine someone who wants to be in charge of a state.
The BJD party is saying that the current leader, Mr. Samal, told different stories in different important papers.
In one paper, he said he was a lawyer, but didn't mention he used to be a minister.
In another paper, he said he was doing social work instead of being a lawyer.
The BJD is saying he's hiding things, and the Bar Council, which watches over lawyers, is asking him to explain.
The BJD thinks Mr. Samal should have been honest in both papers and wants him to clear things up for everyone to see.
The BJD accused Odisha BJP State president Manmohan Samal of submitting conflicting information in affidavits.
The BJD alleges Samal suppressed information in affidavits submitted to the State Bar Council and the Election Commission.
The BJD points out that Samal's affidavit to the Bar Council in 2015 mentioned his legal practice but did not disclose his ministerial role.
In contrast, his Election Commission affidavits listed social service as his profession, omitting his legal practice.
The State Bar Council has reportedly issued a show-cause notice to Samal regarding these discrepancies.
