India and China Expand Military Communication Along LAC

India and China Expand Military Communication Along LAC

India and China are creating more ways for their armies to talk to each other.

Two new military hotlines will connect senior army headquarters.

Two new meeting places will also be created near the border.

Joshimath will serve the Central Sector, and Tawang will serve the Eastern Sector.

These meetings can help commanders discuss problems more quickly.

The plan follows talks between Ajit Doval and Wang Yi.

India and China began using more direct commander-level discussions after a military confrontation in eastern Ladakh in 2020.

The goal is to reduce misunderstandings and manage tensions along the border.
