Gwalior Set to Become Asia’s First Telecom Manufacturing Hub

Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh may soon become a major place for making telecom equipment.

The government plans to create a large Telecom Manufacturing Zone there.

About 24 companies have started applying to build factories.

The project could bring investments of about Rs 5,500 crore.

It may also create more than 18,000 direct jobs.

The first phase will use about 170 acres of land.

Companies could share testing facilities, workers and other infrastructure.

The government has planned incentives to encourage businesses to join.

Officials believe Gwalior’s roads, railways, airport and engineering graduates will support the project.
