Raj Kapoor Offered Fake Marriage for Pakistani Actress
A long time ago, a famous Indian movie director named Raj Kapoor wanted to cast a Pakistani actress named Sangeeta in his movie.
He even offered to arrange a fake marriage between her and his son, Rishi Kapoor, so she could work in India.
But Sangeeta said no because she wanted to make her mark in her own country.
Instead, another actress, Padmini Kolhapure, got the role, and the movie became very popular.
Sangeeta later became a successful actress and filmmaker in Pakistan.
Raj Kapoor offered to arrange a fake marriage between Pakistani actress Sangeeta and his son Rishi Kapoor for her to work in Indian films.
Sangeeta was Raj Kapoor's first choice for the lead role in the 1982 film Prem Rog.
Sangeeta declined the offer, stating she wanted to make her mark in Pakistan.
Padmini Kolhapure was cast in the lead role instead of Sangeeta.
