Piramal Pharma reports Q3 net loss
Piramal Pharma, a company that makes medicines, recently announced that it lost ₹136 crore in the third quarter of 2025.
This is a big change because they had made a small profit of ₹4 crore in the same period last year.
The company said that this happened because their customers had too much stock and weren't ordering as much.
They also mentioned that there were some delays in getting new orders and some problems with regulations.
However, they are seeing some signs of improvement and have plans to grow in the future.
They are also buying a new medicine called Kenalog, which is used to treat conditions like arthritis and inflammation, from another company for $35 million upfront and possibly more based on how well it does.
Piramal Pharma reported a net loss of ₹136 crore for Q3 2025, compared to a net profit of ₹4 crore in the same period last year.
Revenue from operations declined to ₹2,140 crore from ₹2,204 crore in the year-ago period.
The loss was attributed to inventory destocking and slower early-stage order inflows in the CDMO business.
The company is seeing early signs of recovery with increased RFPs and order inflows due to improved biopharma funding and M&A activities in the US healthcare space.
Piramal Critical Care B.V. has agreed to acquire Kenalog and its associated brands from Bristol-Myers Squibb for an upfront consideration of USD 35 million and contingent consideration up to USD 65 million.
