Jharkhand Cancels JSSC-CGL Exam After 24-Day Student Stir
Students in Jharkhand were upset about a big test called the JSSC-CGL.
They said something was wrong with how the test was run.
Many students protested for 24 days, and some stopped eating to show how serious they were.
The leader of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, listened to them.
He decided to cancel the test and other tests run by a company called TDPL.
He also asked investigators to find out what went wrong.
Police searched offices and arrested 20 people connected to the problems.
A special group led by Amitabh Kaushal will suggest ways to make future tests fairer.
Some students who already got jobs from the test were worried they might lose them.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination after a 24-day student agitation.
The government also cancelled all recruitment tests conducted by outsourced agency TDPL since 2014, along with their results.
A probe was ordered into alleged irregularities, with CID raids at the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission office and 20 arrests, including former JPSC chairman L. Khiangte.
An examination reforms committee headed by senior IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal was formed to recommend transparency measures.
The JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch said the protest would continue until its demand for a CBI probe was accepted.
