Pakistan Hockey Team World Cup Blunder: Protective Gear Left Behind

Pakistan's hockey team played their very first game at the 2026 Hockey World Cup.

They played against England, whose nickname is the 'Three Lions'.

England scored the first goal in the 12th minute of the game.

In the 5th minute, Pakistan had a special chance called a penalty corner, but they could not score from it.

Pakistan only scored one goal, in the 51st minute, so they lost the game 4-1.

There was also a big mistake: the Pakistan players forgot their special protective gear for penalty corners in the changing room.

When England got a penalty corner around the 17th minute, a player had to run back to fetch the gear before play could continue.

A referee gave Pakistan's captain a green card, so he had to sit out for two minutes.

A famous former Pakistan captain, Salman Akbar, said the team was not prepared and professional enough.

Pakistan will play Wales on August 17 and India on August 19 next.
