Delhi HC Corrects Student's Birth Date
A student in Delhi had a mistake in his date of birth in his school records.
His parents had accidentally put the wrong date when he was admitted to kindergarten.
The school and the CBSE (the board that conducts exams) did not want to change it because it would mean the student was not eligible for admission at that time.
The Delhi High Court said the student should not suffer because of his parents' mistake and ordered the correction.
The court also fined the parents ₹2 lakh for their mistake.
The Delhi High Court ordered the correction of a student's date of birth in school and CBSE records.
The student's parents had provided an incorrect date of birth during kindergarten admission.
The school and CBSE opposed the correction, arguing it would void the admission.
The court allowed the correction to protect the student from the consequences of his parents' actions.
The court imposed a fine of ₹2 lakh on the parents for their unethical actions.
