Bihar CM Faces Backlash Over Hijab Incident
A group of social activists and lawyers from Hyderabad have filed a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW) against Bihar's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar.
The complaint is about a video that went viral, showing Nitish Kumar pulling the hijab of a newly appointed AYUSH doctor during an event where appointment letters were being given out.
Many political leaders have criticized this action, saying it was disrespectful and inappropriate.
The activists are asking the NCW to take action against Nitish Kumar and to provide counseling for the doctor, who is from Gaya.
The Bihar Health Ministry has said that the doctor has not refused to join her duty.
Some people are defending Nitish Kumar, saying he was just trying to confirm the doctor's identity, but many others believe his actions were wrong and hurtful.

Opposition leaders, including Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, condemned the move, calling it disrespectful and inappropriate.
The Bihar Health Ministry dismissed claims that the AYUSH doctor had refused to join her duty amidst the row.
JD(U) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar defended Nitish Kumar, stating that too much is being read into a flash incident and that the CM was just asking the doctor's identity.
