FIFA Faces Complaint Over Trump Peace Prize
A human rights group called FairSquare has filed a complaint against the head of FIFA, Gianni Infantino.
They say he broke FIFA's rules about staying neutral in politics.
This is because Infantino gave a special peace prize to the US President, Donald Trump, and made several public statements supporting him.
The group points to four specific times when Infantino praised Trump or showed support for his policies.
FIFA has rules that say people working with them should not take sides in politics.
If Infantino is found guilty, he could have to pay a fine of at least CHF 10,000.
The complaint is asking FIFA to investigate these actions.
FairSquare filed a complaint against Gianni Infantino for allegedly breaching FIFA's neutrality rules.
The complaint cites four instances where Infantino publicly endorsed Donald Trump.
Infantino awarded Trump the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at the 2026 World Cup draw in Washington DC.
The complaint alleges that a FIFA video at the event endorsed Trump's foreign policy.
Article 15 of FIFA's Code of Ethics requires political neutrality and stipulates a minimum fine of CHF 10,000 for violations.
