Congress Candidate Elected Mayor Amid Cash Allegations
In Kerala, a woman named Niji Justin was chosen to be the mayor of Thrissur Corporation.
But another woman, Lali James, who also wanted to be mayor, said that Niji Justin got the job because of a 'suitcase' full of money.
Lali James said she didn't have money to give, so she wasn't chosen.
She also said that some important leaders in her party, the Congress, didn't know about the wrongdoing.
Even though she was upset, she followed her party's orders and voted for Niji Justin.
Niji Justin said she has been working for the Congress for a long time and has held many positions in the party.
Niji Justin was elected as the mayor of Thrissur Corporation.
Lali James alleged that the mayoral post was sold for money, referring to a 'suitcase' exchange.
James claimed she was not chosen because she couldn't offer money.
She accused AICC leaders Deepa Dasmunsi and K C Venugopal of being unaware of the wrongdoing.
Despite her protests, James voted for Justin as per party orders.
