India Joins G20 Consensus on Energy and Critical Minerals

India Joins G20 Consensus on Energy and Critical Minerals

India and other G20 members agreed on four energy-related plans.

They want families to gain better access to affordable energy.

The plans mention liquefied petroleum gas as a possible replacement for traditional cooking fuels in some countries.

The countries also want infrastructure projects to receive approvals more efficiently.

They agreed to encourage the reuse of water in communities, factories, farms and energy production.

Another plan aims to make supplies of important minerals safer and less dependent on one supplier.

The meeting also included business investment announcements in the United States.

These agreements are political promises, not treaties, so each country must decide how to carry them out.
