APGENCO MD Urges Thermal Units to Run at Full Capacity
The head of Andhra Pradesh’s power company, S Nagalakshmi, visited a big power plant near Vijayawada.
She told workers to run the machines at full speed so the state can keep electricity flowing.
She also said they must keep enough coal for at least ten days and use smart tools to spot problems early.
This is because a weather pattern called El Niño may make people use more electricity soon.
The plant has many big units, including an 800‑MW unit that is very important for the state’s power supply.
APGENCO MD S Nagalakshmi urged thermal units to operate at optimum capacity to meet rising demand.
She emphasized improving Plant Load Factor through preventive and predictive maintenance.
Officials were instructed to keep coal stocks for at least 10 days and coordinate with coal suppliers and railways.
The 800‑MW Stage‑V supercritical unit was highlighted as key to meeting Andhra Pradesh’s power needs.
The visit took place at Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station near Vijayawada on July 29, 2024.
