Maharashtra Launches New Policy to Strengthen Public Healthcare Workforce

Maharashtra has created a new plan to train people who work in government healthcare.

The goal is to help them gain better skills and provide better services.

Training centres across the state will follow common rules.

The State Institute of Health and Family Welfare in Nagpur will lead the programme.

All regular and contract workers will have to complete training.

New workers must finish their first training within one year of joining.

Workers who are promoted will also receive training for their new roles.

Refresher training will happen after four to six years, followed by advanced training after 10 years.

A 28-day programme will let workers practise in laboratories and district hospitals.
