India Expands Import Substitution to 300 Products for Manufacturing
India wants to make more things inside the country instead of buying them from other countries.
The government has picked more than 300 items that are usually imported.
They plan to let Indian companies make these items by themselves or with help from other companies.
The government is also working on rules to make it easier for businesses to operate.
They want to build new factories and parks to help companies grow.
The goal is to make India a big maker of electronics, cars, and other products by 2030 and 2047.
Government identified over 300 imported products for domestic manufacturing.
Plans to use direct production, joint ventures, or technology transfers.
600 reforms identified, including deregulation at state level.
20 industrial townships and 100 plug‑and‑play parks to boost infrastructure.
Targets to raise electronics/semiconductor output to $500B by 2030 and $5.3–8T by 2047.
