Tripura woman arrested for Facebook posts against PM Modi and CM Saha
A woman in Tripura who makes videos for social media was arrested because some politicians said she was posting rude things about them online.
She made posts about Prime Minister Modi and the state's Chief Minister.
Some people who work for the government filed complaints against her.
She was taken to court and put in jail for a few days.
However, a human rights group said this arrest was too fast, especially compared to other crimes, and that she was being punished for speaking out against the government.
Online content creator Madhabi Biswas arrested in Tripura for allegedly posting obscene content on Facebook against PM Modi and CM Saha.
The arrest followed complaints filed by BJP leaders and corporators against Biswas's remarks on various leaders.
Biswas was booked under the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
She was taken into police custody for three days after being produced before a court.
The Tripura Human Rights Organisation condemned the arrest, calling it a case of targeting and questioning the police's speed in making the arrest.
