Kejriwal Accuses Centre of Blocking Town Hall on E-20
Arvind Kejriwal is the leader of a political party called Aam Aadmi Party.
He says the Indian government is trying to stop a big meeting that his party wants to hold on August 1.
The meeting will talk about a new fuel rule called E‑20.
Kejriwal says the police asked the club where the meeting will be to cancel it, and then told the party they need permission.
He says the club already paid and has a receipt, so it should be allowed.
He thinks the government is trying to stop people from talking about the fuel rule.
He says the meeting will still happen.
The police and the government have not said anything about his claims.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal says the Centre is using police to block his party’s National Town Hall Against E‑20 on Aug 1 at the Constitution Club, New Delhi.
Kejriwal claims police asked the club to cancel the booking and then demanded permission for the event, which he says is unnecessary for indoor gatherings.
The club has already paid and received a booking receipt, and it refused to cancel the reservation.
Kejriwal says the government’s actions aim to suppress debate over the E‑20 fuel policy and will force the policy’s withdrawal.
No response has been issued by Delhi Police or the central government to the accusations.
