Court Rejects Neha Singh Rathore's Bail Over Controversial Posts
Neha Singh Rathore, a famous Bhojpuri singer, made some posts on social media that the government didn't like.
These posts were about a scary attack in Pahalgam where many people died and also criticized the Prime Minister.
The court said she can't be free while the case is going on because her posts were disrespectful and made at a very sensitive time.
Her lawyer said she was just expressing her opinion, but the government said her posts were harmful and could cause trouble.
The court decided that she should have gone to a lower court first and then rejected her request to stay free.
Allahabad High Court rejected Neha Singh Rathore's anticipatory bail application on 5th December 2025.
The case is related to her social media posts criticizing the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Pahalgam terror attack.
The court found her posts disrespectful and harmful to national unity during a sensitive time.
Rathore's lawyer argued that her posts were protected under freedom of expression, while the government claimed they were intended to create communal hatred.
The court noted that her posts reached audiences in Pakistan, where they were used to push anti-India narratives.
