Kareena Kapoor Khan Shares Nerves At Daayra Song Launch
The team behind Daayra held an event to launch the film’s main song.
Kareena Kapoor Khan said she was nervous to stand beside the respected writer Gulzar.
She plays a police officer named Ajuni and said her character is much more controlled than her usual expressive style.
Kareena also said filmmaker Meghna Gulzar was very strict and focused during filming.
Meghna explained that the movie asks difficult questions instead of giving simple answers.
She said the team tried to show painful real-life issues without taking advantage of people’s suffering.
Gulzar said he was deeply moved when he saw an early version of the film.
Prithviraj Sukumaran said the actors had to present different viewpoints sincerely.
Daayra was scheduled to release on September 18.
Kareena Kapoor Khan said she felt nervous sharing the stage with legendary lyricist Gulzar at Daayra’s title-track launch in Mumbai.
The song, Sach Ka Daayra, was written by Gulzar, sung by B Praak and composed by Amit Trivedi.
Kareena said filmmaker Meghna Gulzar kept her restrained while portraying Ajuni, a police officer, in the film.
Meghna Gulzar said Daayra seeks questions rather than definitive answers while depicting fictionalized harsh realities.
Prithviraj Sukumaran said he and Kareena play perspectives intended to make both sides of the film’s argument convincing.
