ABVP Protest at Bhopal DPI Turns Unruly Over Teacher Posts
Primary teacher candidates have been protesting outside a government education office in Bhopal.
They want more job posts to be opened.
They also say some selected candidates have not received appointments because of qualification and recruitment-rule issues.
On Thursday, about 40 ABVP workers came to support them.
The protest became disorderly when some workers entered the office.
They allegedly argued with and physically confronted officials, including Commissioner Abhishek Singh.
Employees are asking for better security and action against those responsible.
The commissioner says officials are listening to the teachers and that talks are still possible.
Around 40 ABVP workers protested at the Directorate of Public Instruction in support of primary teacher candidates.
The workers allegedly manhandled Commissioner of Public Instruction Abhishek Singh and used abusive language while attempting to enter his chamber.
Candidates have held a sit-in outside the office for nearly 15 days, seeking an increase in primary teacher posts.
The candidates said qualification and recruitment-rule issues have prevented appointments despite their selection in the Primary Teacher Selection Examination 2025.
