Karnataka Tourism plans 'Clean and Green Hampi' conservation campaign

The government of Karnataka in India wants to keep a very special old place called Hampi clean and green.

Hampi is a World Heritage Site, which means it is so important that the whole world wants to protect it.

The Karnataka Tourism Department told its officials to make a big plan called the 'Clean and Green Hampi' campaign.

The plan will include cleaning the site, stopping the use of plastic, and taking care of buildings and facilities.

Officials want tourists and local people to help keep the site clean too, not just the government.

They will hire a special agency to do the regular cleaning and maintenance across different areas.

They also want to build a new toilet complex because more and more people are visiting the site.

The tourism minister, K J George, said the goal is to protect Hampi's history while making it a clean, green, and friendly place for visitors.

This way, they hope Hampi's beauty and heritage will be preserved for future generations.
