India Signs $1 Billion Deal for Navy Helicopters
India and the US made a big deal worth ₹7,995 crore to support India's MH60R navy helicopters.
This deal will help India take better care of these helicopters, which can fight submarines and work in all weather.
The support includes spare parts, training, and setting up repair shops in India.
This will help India make more things on its own and rely less on other countries.
The helicopters can work from ships and different places, making them very useful.
India also wants to make more defence things in India and sell them to other countries.
India signed a ₹7,995 crore deal with the US for 5-year sustainment support of MH60R helicopters.
The deal includes spares, training, technical support, and setting up repair facilities in India.
The MH60R helicopters have advanced capabilities like Anti-Submarine Warfare and all-weather operations.
The initiative aligns with India's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, aiming to reduce dependence on the US.
India plans to increase defence exports to ₹50,000 crore by 2030, with private sector leading exports.
