Bombay HC Orders ₹8.14 Lakh Rail Compensation For Train-Fall Death

Bombay HC Orders ₹8.14 Lakh Rail Compensation For Train-Fall Death

The Bombay High Court reviewed the death of Rahul Waman Suryawanshi.

He was found badly injured near railway tracks in 2015 and later died.

His parents said he had fallen from a moving local train.

The Railways argued that he had been crossing the tracks.

A lower railway tribunal agreed with the Railways and rejected the parents’ claim.

The High Court said there was no eyewitness proving that he was trespassing.

It also noted that a train ticket and an official report supported the parents’ version.

The court ordered the Railways to pay the parents ₹8.14 lakh.

The money must be paid within eight weeks, or extra interest will apply.
