Irfan Pathan Urges Chances for Jaiswal Before 2027 World Cup
India will play three one-day cricket matches against the West Indies.
The matches will take place from September 27 to October 3.
Irfan Pathan said India should use the series to try out younger players.
He especially wants Yashasvi Jaiswal to get enough chances as a backup opening batter.
This could help India prepare for the 2027 World Cup.
Naman Dhir has received his first ODI call-up.
Dhir can bat in different positions and also bowl off-spin.
Pathan is particularly interested in seeing how well Dhir bowls.
India’s three-match ODI series against the West Indies runs from September 27 to October 3.
Irfan Pathan said the series is an opportunity to test India’s bench strength before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
Pathan wants backup opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to receive regular opportunities during the series.
Naman Dhir received his maiden ODI call-up and could contribute with both batting and off-spin.
Pathan said Dhir’s bowling, rather than only his batting, will be closely tested if selected.
