Tharoor: Rahul Gandhi's Student Campaign Didn't Resonate Like CJP

In India, students held big protests because important exams had paper leaks, and they wanted the education minister to step down.

A student group called the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) began these protests in New Delhi on June 20.

Before that, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had talked about many of the same problems in a campaign called Chhatron Ki Goonj, but not as many people paid attention.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said it was interesting that the same issues got more attention when the CJP raised them.

He said political parties need to listen carefully to what people care about, because young people called Gen Z will be the largest group of voters in 2029.

Some politicians agreed with Tharoor, while others defended Rahul Gandhi and said he works for real change, not just attention.

One Communist leader said the protests are already over and students won, so talking about it now makes no sense.

Some people were upset that Tharoor appeared on the same program as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, but Tharoor said hearing different views is important.

Tharoor also said street protests and debates in Parliament should each do their part.
