Telangana High Court Orders BHEL to Regularize 29 Staff
Imagine a group of medical workers, like nurses and assistants, were hired by a big company called BHEL in Hyderabad, but they were only hired temporarily, even though they worked for over 10 years.
The Telangana High Court said this wasn't fair.
The court said that since the workers were hired fairly and had worked for so long, they should be given permanent jobs.
The court also said that BHEL was trying to take advantage of these workers by paying them less than permanent staff.
So, BHEL now has to make these temporary workers permanent.
Telangana High Court ruled in favor of 29 ad-hoc para-medical staff.
The staff had been working for BHEL for over a decade.
The court cited the 'Uma Devi' case regarding permanent appointments.
Staff were recruited through employment exchanges and interviews.
BHEL argued the staff accepted temporary terms, but the court rejected this.
