India's Mustard Output May Rise 10% in 2025-26
India's mustard production might go up by 10% in the next year, 2025-26.
This is because more land is being used to grow mustard and the weather has been good so far.
The government wants to produce 139 lakh tonnes of mustard, which is more than last year's 126.67 lakh tonnes.
However, there might be some problems because of rain and hailstorms in the next few days.
The land used for mustard has increased in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
But in some places like Jharkhand and the northeastern states, the land used for mustard has decreased.
Mustard production in India may increase by 10% in 2025-26 due to higher acreage and favorable weather.
Current mustard acreage is 89.36 lakh hectare, up 3.2% from last year.
Government targets 139 lakh tonnes of mustard production for 2025-26, up from 126.67 lakh tonnes last year.
Rain and hailstorms predicted in north-west regions may pose a risk to mustard crops.
Mustard acreage has increased significantly in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh but decreased in Jharkhand and northeastern states.
