Kuwait Mandates KD150 Work Permit Fee, Ending Exemptions
Kuwait is changing how it handles work visas.
Previously, certain groups didn't have to pay a fee when they transferred their work permits.
Now, everyone has to pay a standard fee of KD150.
This includes places like hospitals, schools, and charities.
The government wants to make sure everyone is treated the same.
They're also speeding up these changes, so there won't be extra reviews.
The goal is to have clearer rules for all workers in Kuwait.
Kuwait ended work permit fee exemptions, imposing a standard KD150 charge.
The policy change was enacted under Ministerial Resolution No. 4 of 2025.
The KD150 fee applies to various sectors including government-owned companies, hospitals, and schools.
Article 2 of the 2024 resolution allowing exemptions was repealed.
Article 5, mandating a one-year impact study, was abolished to speed up implementation.
