UDF Convenor Calls for Probe into CPI(M) MP's Links with Sabarimala Gold Loss Accused
Adoor Prakash, the convenor of the United Democratic Front (UDF), has asked for an investigation into a CPI(M) MP's possible connection with Unnikrishnan Potty, the main suspect in the Sabarimala gold loss case.
Prakash mentioned that Potty had approached him to inaugurate a program at Sabarimala and later introduced him to Sonia Gandhi.
However, Prakash denied any wrongdoing and welcomed an investigation.
The CPI(M) MP, John Brittas, rejected Prakash's allegations, calling them baseless and suggesting that Prakash might be pointing fingers at his own party members.
Brittas also questioned how Potty managed to meet Sonia Gandhi, given her high-security status.
UDF convenor Adoor Prakash called for an investigation into a CPI(M) MP's alleged links with the prime accused in the Sabarimala gold loss case, Unnikrishnan Potty.
Prakash clarified that Potty was from the constituency he represents and had approached him to inaugurate a program at Sabarimala.
Prakash denied making any arrangements for Potty to meet Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, stating that Potty had an appointment to meet her.
Prakash suggested that a CPI(M) MP, who is trying to act as a bridge between the Left and the BJP, had played a role in the removal of gold from Sabarimala.
CPI(M) MP John Brittas rejected Prakash's allegations, calling them baseless and suggesting that Prakash might be pointing fingers at his own party members.
