World Bank, Asian Development Bank Consider Funds for Amaravati Greenery

Officials from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank visited a plant nursery in Amaravati.

They saw many kinds of plants being grown there.

The nursery covers 18 acres and has more than 5,000 plant varieties.

These plants are used to make different parts of Amaravati greener.

The city plans to add trees along roads, near government buildings, in neighborhoods and in parks.

More greenery could also help Amaravati develop eco-tourism.

The banks said they may provide special funding for this work.

They want the Amaravati Development Corporation to first submit a detailed Green Action Plan.
