Tropical Storm Edouard Makes Landfall on Louisiana Coast

Tropical Storm Edouard reached the Louisiana coast on Tuesday.

It was not strong enough to become a hurricane before making landfall.

Its strongest winds were about 60 miles per hour.

Forecasters expected the storm to weaken as it moved inland.

Heavy rain was expected in Texas, especially near Houston.

Some places could receive up to 9 inches of rain.

The rain could cause flash floods in cities and low-lying areas.

The storm could also temporarily disrupt ships and energy facilities along the Gulf Coast.
