Gujarat ACB Traps Private Agent Over Timber Transit Bribe

Gujarat ACB Traps Private Agent Over Timber Transit Bribe

The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau investigated reports of illegal payments at a forest check post.

Drivers carrying timber allegedly had to pay money for routine paperwork.

This paperwork included stamping a transit pass and recording vehicle details.

The ACB arranged a secret operation with help from a citizen.

On August 24, a private individual allegedly asked for and accepted Rs 100.

The agency said he was acting on instructions from a forest guard.

The ACB recovered the money and named both men as accused.

One report says both men were caught or arrested, while another specifically describes the private individual being trapped.

The allegations are still subject to legal proceedings and investigation.
