FSSAI Notices Push Food Firms to Withdraw Misleading Claims

India’s food regulator, FSSAI, checks whether food companies describe their products honestly.

It sent notices to companies over claims that could mislead shoppers.

The concerns included health and nutrition statements on labels and in advertisements.

Mondelez India removed some claims and advertisements from online shopping platforms.

It also worked to revise its packaging for compliance.

Sapiens Labs replied to the regulator and removed all claims and advertisements connected with its product.

These actions are meant to help consumers receive accurate information.

FSSAI said the companies acted after being notified.
