Nexperia and Tata Partner on Chip Manufacturing in India

Nexperia and Tata Partner on Chip Manufacturing in India

Tata Electronics and Nexperia are joining together to make computer chips in India.

The chips will include power-control parts used in cars and electronic devices.

Production is planned at a large Tata factory being built in Dholera.

The companies are also discussing testing and assembling chips at another Tata facility in Jagiroad.

They may work together on new chip technologies in the future.

Nexperia recently separated from its Chinese parent company, Wingtech.

The Dutch government became involved because it wanted to stop Nexperia’s operations from moving to China, according to reports.

China then temporarily stopped exports of some Nexperia chips, which contributed to shortages for carmakers.
