Israel Strikes Gaza After Accusations of Hamas Ceasefire Violations
Imagine two groups, Israel and Hamas, agreed to stop fighting for a while.
But then, Israel said Hamas broke the rules by attacking soldiers and even faking the discovery of a dead hostage.
Because of this, Israel started bombing parts of Gaza, and sadly, many people were killed.
Hamas said they didn't do what Israel accused them of and that Israel's bombing was also a violation.
Even though this fighting is happening, the leader of the United States said the agreement to stop fighting isn't totally broken yet and that Israel had a right to defend itself.
People are worried this fighting could start a bigger conflict again.
Israel launched airstrikes in Gaza following accusations of Hamas ceasefire violations, including the killing of an Israeli soldier.
Gazan health authorities reported at least 26 deaths from the overnight Israeli bombardment.
Israel claims Hamas violated the ceasefire by firing on soldiers near Rafah, while Hamas denies responsibility and condemns the strikes.
The incident strains the fragile US-brokered ceasefire that began on October 10.
US President Trump stated the ceasefire is not jeopardized and Israel has the right to retaliate.
