J&K&L High Court fines department for dental assistant appointment delays
The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court scolded the health department for being unfair and slow in hiring dental assistants.
The court said the department only followed some court rules to protect certain people who were not supposed to be hired.
Because of this, the court made the department pay Rs 10,000 to each person who was supposed to get the job in 2013 but didn't.
This is to make things fair for those who were left out.
The Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court fined the health and medical education department for delaying appointments and selectively applying court judgments.
The fine is Rs 10,000 per candidate who appeared in the revised recruitment list but was not appointed in 2013.
The court criticized the department for filing an appeal after six years to protect ousted candidates.
The positions in question are dental assistant/junior dental technician.
Chief Justice Arun Palli and Justice Rajnesh Oswal presided over the case.
