Mizo Students Union Pushes for Stronger ILP Enforcement
The Mizo Students' Union (MSU) wants the government to make sure that people entering Mizoram have the proper permits, called ILPs.
They met with the Home Minister to ask for more ILP checkpoints, especially near the new railway line.
The MSU wants these checkpoints to stop people from entering the state illegally.
The Home Minister said he would work on making the ILP rules stronger, and even consider special permits for tourists.
This comes after a new railway line opened, connecting Aizawl with the rest of the country.
MSU urged the Mizoram government to strengthen Inner Line Permit (ILP) checkpoints.
The focus is on checkpoints near the newly opened railway line up to Sairang.
MSU leaders met with Home Minister K. Sapdanga regarding ILP enforcement.
The government plans to improve ILP guidelines and consider tourist-specific permits.
