China Cuts US Farm Tariffs, But Leaves Soybeans Excluded

China and the United States agreed to lower tariffs on many farm products.

The list includes corn, wheat, meat, dairy and some vegetable oils.

Soybeans were left out of the relief package.

This means US soybeans still face an extra 10% tariff in China.

Traders say that tariff can make it difficult for private Chinese buyers to earn money.

Chinese state companies are still buying large amounts of US soybeans.

The United States says China agreed to buy 25 million metric tons of soybeans each year through 2028.

China has not confirmed that target.

The timing for the tariff cuts has not yet been announced.
