Microsoft and Nvidia to Debut AI-Powered Surface Laptop

Microsoft and Nvidia to Debut AI-Powered Surface Laptop

Microsoft plans to show a new laptop at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday.

It is called the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Nvidia chips inside it are intended to help run AI tasks on the computer itself.

That could let people use AI without sending every task to the cloud.

Microsoft hopes this could move some work away from its data centers.

Nvidia also hopes to sell chips in a PC market where Intel and AMD are major rivals.

One concern is whether AI agents can be kept safe when they have access to a computer.

Another concern is the cost: memory prices have risen, which could make these machines too expensive for many people.
