India’s Principal Secretary Warns of Trade, Capital and AI Risks

Pramod Kumar Mishra said India must prepare for changes in the world economy.

Other countries may create trade barriers that make buying and selling goods harder.

Companies and countries can also move money quickly in or out of India.

Mishra said India should make more products at home and make them competitively.

He said attracting foreign investment requires predictable rules and efficient government services.

India also needs to prepare for artificial intelligence, even though its full effects are not known yet.

Banks will remain important, but India will need bond markets, stock markets and other investors too.

Mishra warned banks not to approve loans carelessly just because investment is increasing.
