Assam and Meghalaya CMs Discuss Border Issues and Growth Prospects
Imagine two friends, Assam and Meghalaya, who used to be the same.
They split up a while ago, but now they're having a little trouble figuring out exactly where their yard boundaries should be.
The leaders of both states got together to chat and try to solve these problems.
They talked about making their states even better together and sorting out the spots where they both think they own the land.
They even had a plan to put up some markers to show where each state's land starts and ends, but there was one spot they couldn't agree on.
They are also trying to find the best way to get along, make sure everyone is happy and that they can keep being good neighbors.
Assam and Meghalaya Chief Ministers met to discuss mutual growth and border issues.
The meeting follows tensions in disputed border areas, particularly in Tarabari.
Discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between the two states.
Both states had agreed to erect border pillars in five disputed areas by Independence Day.
Meghalaya was carved out of Assam in 1972, leading to border disputes.
